Artist Statement

My work focuses on questioning self awareness. Exploring existentialism I study internal to external realities of the human experience. With increasing impacts of climate change as well as consumerism humanity must begin to examine its impermanence so they can continue to evolve.  Exploring emotions I connect my own personal experiences with those of others to bring awareness to our interconnectivity. My paintings balance flow with surrealistic iconography that involves mindscapes, nature and femininity.

Artist Bio

Loren Malul is a contemporary surrealist painter illustrator and printmaker. She currently resides in south California and is pursuing her MFA from California State University in San Bernardino. Loren plans to continue building her portfolio while also teaching aspiring artists.
